Countdown to Christmas

My Top 12 Advent Calendar Picks

There are so many different Advent Calendars on the market these days. From Chocolate, to alcohol, to beauty to toys! There really is something to suit everyone. There are calendars up until Christmas eve, some count down to the big day itself giving you 25 Doors and others are ’12 days of’. The great mystery for me surrounding these 12 days of, is when to open them! I googled it and still no further?! Every other day? 0 Willpower over here!

When I heard the phrase ‘Advent Calendar’ as a kid – I instantly thought of purple! Of Cadbury’s chocolate and those Angel, Santa face and tree moulds behind each door! What a treat?! So much so that I could never just open one door a day, and that didn’t just include my own on occasion (sorry sis). Please tell me I’m not alone here?!

Being 5’1 I’m a sucker for anything in miniature form. There is no denying that the Christmas Build up itself is my favourite. A little something to make you smile every day! What’s not to love?! I also love the fact that advent calendars, especially the beauty ones give you the chance to try a variety of different products before splashing out on the full size. Any bits you don’t think you’ll use or are perhaps best suited to someone else, why not keep them to one side and use as little stocking fillers? I did that with my wine advent calendar last year. There were a couple of bottles of rose (drank far too much white zinfandel in my youth to have a taste for it now) so I gifted these to my sister who enjoyed them in soda spritzers!

So, let’s get to it!
